August 13, 2019 Meeting

Another very successful and enthusiastic meeting was held with some fabulous contributions from all who attended. It was generally agreed that future meetings, at least for the short term, should be as follows.

  • Each attendee to bring along 1 or 2 photos in original RAW format.
  • Processing to be done in detail with input from all.
  • At previous meetings we have glossed over much of the Lightroom processing detail but it appears that members are keen to see the processing techniques in detail.
  • A “mini workshop” in effect, with everyone learning from each others experience.
  • All processing to be done primarily with Lightroom, with an occasional visit to NIK plugins (Silver Effects Pro).

June 25, 2019 – Meeting

Another successful and insightful evening was had; thanks to all for your contribution to the night.

May 7, 2019 – Workshop Meeting

On 7th May we had our first workshop style meeting. What a most enjoyable evening it was with plenty of input and learning. for the attendees.

March 26th, 2019 – Inaugural Meeting

The inaugural meeting of the “B&W SIG” was held. Present: Judy, Margaret, Arthur, John, Pam, Graham, Liesel

The group decided that we would not have separate outings but incorporate them into the Scenic SIG outings. It would be convenient for Mono SIG members to communicate to one another Monochrome opportunities when on a Scenic SIG outing.

It was decided to have meetings at intervals of around 6-8 weeks. At those meetings we would do one or all of the following.

a) Bring along prints/DPI’s for discussion and critique. Any prints should be accompanied by a DPI.

b) On occasions agree on a general theme for photos for the following meetings.

c) On occasions we would set up a PC with Lightroom or similar and share suggested processing techniques including “Silver Effects Pro”. d) Group education and discussion of the monochrome/B&W options within Lightroom/ACR.

e) Any other activity that may be determined from time to time.
