Register your interest with Adrian NOW!
If you are familiar with the Melbourne Open House weekend, then this looks interesting.

Polly Woodside shoot

A small but enthusiastic group attended today’s shoot; not helped by significant train disruptions.

April 2018

Point Leo Estate sculpture park.

A small but hardy group braved the elements on Sunday the 5th.

Thankfully, the weather held until the last 10 minutes or so; however, the umbrella shots may turn out to be the keepers of the day!

More pics to follow in the coming days…….

March 2015

They met on steps of Parliament at 4.00 pm, planning to shoot around Parliament House, Windsor Hotel, St Patricks, Treasury Building

For some it was too bright and contrasty – they headed for the more subtle light in Little Bourke Street and the lanes.  Other made the most of the strong sunlight.

Here are some images captured on the day….

December 2014

Six people attended the most recent shoot – at the National Gallery of Victoria.  Two guests (John and Linda Bell) from the Mold Camera Club in Wales were included.

The cool interior of the NGV was appreciated on the hot Melbourne afternoon. The customary coffee was had at the Arts Centre coffee shop.

Following are images from group leader Adrian.  Others will be added when received after members complete their processing

September 2014 – Abbotsford Convent

On Sunday, September 28, members of the group met at the Convent in St Heliers Street, Abbotsford.

The site provided many varied opportunities for photography – as can be seen from the Gallery below.

As usual coffee and a catch-up afterwards was enjoyed by the those who attended the indulgence.

June 2014 – South Wharf

Five members braved the cold weather to meet at “Polly Woodside” end of Seafarers Bridge for the varied image opportunities on offer in the South Wharf area.

Photos by the participants will be available soon.  In the meantime, here is one of some of the group and an image by the group leader, Adrian Donoghue:

March 2014 – The Shrine of Remembrance

On Sunday 16 March 2014, nine club members met at the Shrine during variable weather and with the Grand Prix race in the near distance.

There is so much to see and absorb, as well as photograph at the Shrine and surrounds plus “the race” provided the added interest of fly overs by the RAAF Roulettes, the F/A 18 Hornet and the Qantas 747.

A selection of images from the day follow:

December 2013 – Melbourne University

The group met at the gate-keepers cottage and moved to the surreal underground car-park.  After that it was on to the quadrangle and some of the adjacent architecture

.More photos will be loaded as they are received.

September 2013 – Melbourne Museum

It was a very small group of Urban Cowboys who enjoyed a few hours shooting inside and outside the Melbourne Museum. So many group members away travelling or otherwise engaged!

Here are some of the results of the afternoon.  Others will be added as they are received.

June 2013 – Brunswick Street, Fitzroy and surrounds

The group met in Brunswick Street for some late afternoon and evening shots, which resulted in the images below.  Afterwards, a number of the group enjoyed a pizza and a recap of the shoot.

March 2013 – Luna Park & St Kilda Pier

A small number of the group braved a hot afternoon for a stroll around Luna Park, The foreshore and out on the St Kilda pier. Please enjoy some of their work…..

December 2012 – Australian Centre for Contemporary Art, 111 Sturt Street Melbourne

A perfect afternoon’s weather added to a most enjoyable shoot and meet-up for members of the Urban Landscape group.  Lots to photograph at the ACCA and surrounding areas and good coffee afterwards at the Malthouse Theatre next door.

September – Collingwood Silos

Blue skies welcomed members of the urban landscape group to the Collingwood silos on Sunday 30th September.

Wide angle lenses were the order of the day as members captured the neglected majesty of these structures. Photographic opportunities, (in the form of a large crane), divided the group into two in the latter stages of the shoot, resulting in a McCafe coffee or a $2 coffee at the corner pub (reviews to follow).

First photos follow.  Others will be added later.

June – The Coles Fountain

The inaugural Urban Landscape photo shoot was held at the Coles fountain on Sunday 24th June.  Six enthusiastic members braved the cool conditions to capture the beauty of this fountain.  A handful of even braver members risked getting wet by entering the fountain to act as umbrella models. A post-shoot gathering discussed aspects of the shoot, and some of the photographic equipment used; the sales of Manfrotto grip ball heads rose by two the week after. The social atmosphere was warm, but not so the coffee. See you at the next shoot in September; hot coffee guaranteed.
